12-Day Kenya Safari: Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Samburu, Aberdare, Amboseli & Tsavo West/East
Embark on an unforgettable 12-day Kenya safari that showcases the very best of East Africa’s wilderness, wildlife and culture. This journey is designed for travellers who want to experience Kenya in depth, moving from the famed savannahs of the Masai Mara to the remote reserves of Samburu and Shaba, through the cool highlands of Aberdare and down to the sweeping plains of Amboseli and the dramatic landscapes of Tsavo West and Tsavo East. Each destination offers its own unique ecosystem, game species and scenery, ensuring every day of this 12-day Kenya safari feels new, invigorating and memorable. From your first game drive to your last sunset on the plains, you will be immersed in the richness of Africa.
The adventure begins in the remote Shaba/Samburu area, a rugged northern reserve where the hit series Survivor 3 was filmed among lions, elephants and the rare “Samburu Special Five” such as Grevy’s zebra and Somali ostrich. Here you’ll encounter wildlife that is not found in southern parks and experience a raw, untamed side of Kenya. Moving south, you will travel to Lake Nakuru National Park, a sanctuary for endangered rhinos and a haven for millions of greater and lesser flamingos that paint the shoreline pink. The next stage of your 12-day Kenya safari takes you to the Masai Mara, home to one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on Earth – the annual migration of wildebeest and zebras as well as year-round Big Five viewing. Game drives across the open plains offer countless photographic opportunities of lions, cheetahs, elephants and more.
Your journey continues into the cool misty forests of Aberdare National Park, where tree-lodges offer an elevated perspective over waterholes visited by elephants, leopards and bushbuck. This tranquil stop balances the excitement of previous game drives with moments of quiet contemplation, where only the distant roar of a lion breaks the night air. From the highlands you descend to Amboseli, famed for its huge elephant herds moving beneath the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli’s sweeping vistas and rich wildlife make it a highlight for photographers and nature lovers alike. Finally, your safari concludes in the twin parks of Tsavo West and Tsavo East, Kenya’s largest protected areas. Here you’ll explore lava flows, Mzima Springs and vast open plains dotted with red-dust-coated elephants, a fitting finale to your comprehensive 12-day Kenya safari.
Throughout the journey you will stay in comfortable, quality accommodations chosen for their locations and service. Exciting days of exploration and game drives are balanced by relaxing nights at lodges or tented camps where you can unwind, dine on fresh meals and recount the day’s sightings. This is a safari that blends adventure with comfort, offering a great-value African experience without compromising on quality. Should you wish to upgrade, accommodation in luxury lodges and luxury tented camps is also available on request.
Your all-inclusive package covers virtually everything you need for a seamless safari experience.
