This once-in-a-lifetime safari blends breathtaking landscapes, abundant wildlife, and authentic cultural encounters, offering you the essence of East Africa in thirteen unforgettable days. Whether you are a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveller returning for more, this journey delivers a rich, comprehensive safari experience that few other trips can match.

Your safari begins in Kenya’s world-famous Masai Mara, a land of sweeping grasslands and dramatic wildlife action. Here lion prides, cheetahs and leopards rule the plains, and the Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras (seasonal) unfolds in one of nature’s most breathtaking spectacles. Daily game drives with our experienced guides maximize your chances of seeing the Big Five up close while also introducing you to the fascinating culture of the Maasai people. As the sun sets over the savannah, you’ll relax in comfortable lodges or tented camps, absorbing the magic of Africa’s golden hour.

From the Mara, travel through the dramatic Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is a sanctuary for endangered rhinos and is world-renowned for its flocks of pink flamingos that blanket the lake’s shoreline. You’ll enjoy scenic drives through acacia forests and rolling hills, spotting giraffes, buffaloes, and an incredible array of bird species. Lake Nakuru offers a serene yet vibrant counterpoint to the vastness of the Mara, making it an essential stop on our 13-Day Kenya Tanzania Safari.

Next, head south to Amboseli National Park, Kenya’s iconic elephant country framed by the snow-capped peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Amboseli offers unbeatable close-up encounters with large herds of elephants as well as a variety of other wildlife species, from grazing antelopes to prowling predators. This section of your 13-Day Kenya Tanzania Safari gives you the classic postcard images of Africa with wildlife silhouetted against the continent’s highest mountain — a photographer’s dream.

After experiencing Kenya’s highlights, cross the border into Tanzania for a new dimension of East African wilderness. Begin with Lake Manyara National Park, celebrated for its lush groundwater forests, vast soda lake and rare tree-climbing lions. Here you’ll also encounter troops of baboons, flocks of flamingos and a rich tapestry of landscapes in a relatively compact area, making game drives thrilling and varied.

The adventure then continues to the legendary Serengeti, whose endless plains are home to the largest concentration of wildlife on Earth. Depending on the season, you may witness dramatic river crossings or predator action as part of the Great Migration — a once-in-a-lifetime experience and the highlight of many guests’ 13-Day Kenya Tanzania Safari. Our expert guides know the best spots and times to maximize your chances of unforgettable sightings.

Your journey then descends into the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often described as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” This vast, sunken caldera shelters a dense population of wildlife, including all of the Big Five. Game drives here are unlike anywhere else, with spectacular backdrops and some of the easiest wildlife viewing in Africa. Conclude your adventure in Tarangire National Park, known for its giant baobab trees, rolling savannahs, and massive elephant herds that create striking photographic moments and a memorable finale to your cross-border safari.

Throughout this trip, you will enjoy thrilling game drives led by experienced English-speaking driver-guides, comfortable accommodations ranging from well-appointed tents to quality lodges, and opportunities to engage with local cultures.
